Movin' On

I’m a year older now, but I feel younger somehow

Takin a trip on my own, figuring out where I’ve gone

And movin' on…..

Then I saw the black smoke rise, from them cars and I knew they’d all died

Tried to help em out, but there was never a doubt

They were movin' on

Forgot what all that fussin' was for

Politics, the police and the war

So I pushed to the center of the range, them high Sierra they gave me strength

They said welcome home, and to the unknown

It was a funeral

It’s a celebration of life, and as I poured my whiskey on the fire

Blue blazes they did shoot, in the air as a tribute

To the movin' on

Forgot what I’d been worrying about

Broken hearts and bank accounts

Forgot what all that fussin was for

Politics, the police and the war…..and movin' on

We lost a friend to the river bank, maybe poison, maybe snakes

We thought she ran away, but she dug right down and stayed, but was movin' on

It's a celebration of life, and as we pour our whiskey on the fire

Blue blazes they will shoot, up in the air as a tribute, to the movin' on
